Golden Green Foundation is preparing to connect carefully selected Golden Canines with people and families who may benefit from companionship, comfort, and hope.
Every meaningful connection begins with a strong foundation.
Golden Green Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization created around a simple belief: the bond between people and dogs can change lives. A thoughtfully matched canine companion can provide comfort during hardship, encourage confidence, ease isolation, and offer the kind of loyal friendship that asks for nothing in return.
Our vision is to help make these connections possible for individuals and families who may benefit from them, including first responders, people with disabilities or special needs, children and young adults in foster care, and people experiencing grief, isolation, or other difficult circumstances.
Preparing With Purpose
Although our organization has been legally established and our initial administrative work is complete, we are not yet conducting placements or other program activities. Our anticipated program launch is in 2027.
This preparation period is important. Responsible canine placement requires much more than bringing a person and a dog together. It calls for careful planning, appropriate policies, reliable community partnerships, sound financial stewardship, and a thoughtful process that protects the well-being of every recipient and every dog.
We are using this time to build those foundations properly.
When our placement activities begin, our process is expected to include:
- An initial application or nomination
- Individual review by the Foundation
- Careful consideration of each dog's temperament, health, and suitability
- Thoughtful matching between the dog and prospective recipient
- A gradual introduction and preparation period
- Ongoing check-ins following placement
Submitting an application or nomination will not guarantee selection or placement. Every request will be considered individually, and all placements will depend upon eligibility, compatibility, timing, available dogs, and the Foundation's resources.
Meet Sunny, Our Golden Canine Ambassador
The inspiration behind the Golden Green Foundation is Sunny, the beloved Golden Canine of our founder and the Foundation's official ambassador.
Sunny represents the qualities at the heart of our mission: loyalty, compassion, joy, trust, and hope. Most importantly, Sunny reminds us of the remarkable difference a devoted canine companion can make in someone's life.
Through "Sunny Says," our community will receive Foundation news, helpful information, stories, and updates as we move closer to launching our programs.
Looking Toward 2027
There are no placement stories to share just yet — and that is okay.
We believe transparency matters. We will never suggest that programs or placements have occurred before they actually have, and we will never publish an individual's identifiable story without that person's explicit and informed consent.
For now, our story is one of careful preparation.
Over the coming months, we look forward to sharing updates about our progress, introducing the people and partners who will help support the mission, and explaining more about responsible canine companionship and placement.
